Biography

Karen Lee grew up in a family who loved to sing.   When her parents realized that she could quiet a room with her voice, they decided to enroll her in private vocal and piano lessons.


Over the next fifteen years, Karen has performed internationally in cities such as Hong Kong, Manila, and Tijuana.  She participated and won many talent shows in the Santa Clarita area.  In 2001, Karen was nominated as “best performer in pop country” at the 2nd Annual Omni Awards Show in Hollywood.  From local coffee shops to wedding venue’s in the Philippines, she has always stunned her audiences with her wide range and versatility.  Her rich warm voice has enabled her to sing many different genres such as: opera, musical theater, pop, jazz, motown, country, rock and R&B with ease.  While attending Hart High School, Karen traveled with the advance show choir to places such as: Mexico, Florida, Hawaii, and New York competing in national competitions hosted by FAME.  At the end of her senior year of high school, Karen was awarded  “Best Female Singer of Sound Vibrations 2007.”  She finished her high school career by singing for an audience of 10,000 at her graduation. 


In 2007, Karen attended the College of the Canyons of Valencia, California where she joined many choirs that traveled along the coast of California such as the College of the Canyon’s “Just Jazz”, a vocal jazz group and “Les Chanteuse,” a woman’s choir.  In 2010, she transferred to the Cal State University of Northridge where she continued on to win many awards and scholarships such as: the Leadership, the Buelah Allen Voice, the Elisabeth Parham Voice, and the Cal State University of Northridge Music Department Scholarship.  In 2012, Karen was the winner of the CSUN Concerto Aria Competition.  In the Spring of 2013, Karen was featured singing an aria with the CSUN symphony.  While attending CSUN, Karen has performed in many ensembles such as: Northridge Singers, Women’s Chorale, Steele Drums Ensemble, and Taiko Japanese Drumming.

Karen graduated in 2013 at the California State University of Northridge with a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance.

Today, Karen records in studios for commercials and music in media. When she is not recording, Karen is a music instructor at the Higher Vision Leadership School, a vocal instructor at the All Stars after school program, and a private instructor for voice and piano. She also performs with The G3 Band-a cover band throughout the LA area as well as other cover bands.
